Intoxicated Driver Stopped by Residents After Cul-De-Sac Mishap
Roman Forest Police Department: CUL-DE-SAC DWI William Paul Chandler, 68, of Roman Forest was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated, enhanced prior conviction.
Officers responded to a crash on Artesian way. Upon making contact with the driver, the officer recognized that the driver was showing signs of intoxicated and found an open container of alcohol in the front seat. Witnesses reported that Chandler tried to leave following hitting three mailboxes and a resident had to stop him from leaving. The driver had turned on the wrong street and was confused when he realized he was in a cul-de-sac instead of the through road he lives on. Good job Officer Taylor Quiroga and our awesome Artesian Way residents.

I will not tolerate someone driving intoxicated in a cul-de-sac with children playing at 5 o’clock in the afternoon, especially when we just arrested Chandler last December for the same thing. I pray for the safety of our children and full prosecution for this DWI driver that put them at risk. ~Chief Stephen Carlisle

Cbear otto : Glad he was stopped before he hurt someone. The sad thing is, he'll probably do it again.
