Yard man coming tomorrow with the tree guy to look at dead magnolia tree in the front. It's so sad to even think about cutting it down. It belonged to my DH. He absolutely loved it and planted it when we first moved here. It bloomed every year except the years he was sick and didn't bloom but one magnolia each year. It died during the drought during the summer. I've been hoping it's coming back to life, but it isn't. So it has to come down.

@Sweetie :
It's always sad to lose a big tree, but especially when there's a sentimental attachment. I hope you have pictures of it when it was in its glory days. Emoticon

@Bloom : No, I never took pictures, but I know people would walk by and take pictures of it because it was just blooming so beautiful it would be full of magnolias. And when you walk out the front door, that's all you could smell. But it was so weird that once my DH got sick. It stopped blooming all those magnolias . It Would bloom only one a year

@Sweetie :
I'll always remember my first time smelling Magnolias. Guess I had never been around them before. We spent a few days in Fort Walton, FL. We stayed at a beach side hotel, and there was always this strong fragrance in the air. I finally figured out that it was the Magnolias around the hotel. Smelled so good!
