Splendora Police Officer Discovers 28.5 Kilos of Cocaine En Route to MichiganFrom Splendora Police Department:On 3-1-24 an Officer Assigned to Splendora Police Departments Criminal Interdiction Unit was on patrol on US HWY 59 in Splendora. The Officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle due to a traffic violation. During the stop the Interdiction Officer had reason to believe criminal activity was taking place. The Officer asked the driver for consent to search the vehicle and was denied. Another Interdiction unit was already on scene and is a K9 handler. K9 Ordy was then deployed on the vehicle and alerted to the odor of narcotics. A probable cause search was then conducted on the vehicle and a suite case was located in the trunk that contained 28.5 kilos (28,500 grams) of cocaine that was destined for Michigan.
