China1 : I have personally seen this succeed in one community and fail in another - and I cannot tell you what the diffeeence was. I guess a person can just try and see what happens. It's a great idea and truly does bring people together with a sense of community and belonging when it works.

botanylover : It's how you look at, cause I seen the same thing but it's not the community it's the people in the community.

China1 : Perhaps. As I said, I am not sure what the difference was.

China1 : Where I live, that may not be feasible. I feel like a lot of people keep to themselves. Also, a few have a gate at the front, so you can't just walk up to their front door. My next door neighbor on the left, whom we just met a couple of months ago, has a lot of dogs and it wouldn't be wise to open the gate 😅. But in any other neighborhood, like with track houses, that would probably work better.
