'Jeopardy!' contestant sets new single-game cash winnings record

I normally watch, but missed it today...

Cha-ching!
"Jeopardy!" has to pay up. The longtime game show has a new winner and his earnings are quite impressive. James Holzhauer, a 34-year-old professional sports gambler from Las Vegas, Nev., won Tuesday's episode of "Jeopardy!" with a total of $110,914, according to a press release.
This impressive number has broken the show's record for single-day cash winnings. The record was previously set by Roger Craig on September 19, 2010, when he took home $77,000 in a single game.

That was dang good...but this is even more impressive. Check this out...

What's even more exciting is that Holzhauer's prize, $110,914, holds a special numerical significance - it's his daughter birthday. She was born on November 9, 2014 (11/09/14).

He has a way to go though, if he wants to get the all time high. The following guy set the record for consecutive winning days...

Ken Jennings: $3,270,700. Ken Jennings is arguably the most famous "Jeopardy!" contestant in the show's history, as he holds the record for the longest winning streak, with a 74-game streak in 2004. In total, he has won $3,270,700 in prize money.

And then there is this guy with highest total, but over a period of years...

Brad Rutter is the highest earning contestant on "Jeopardy!" ever: he's made around $4,385,702 over 14 years. His first, five-day streak earned him $55,102, but winning the Tournament of Champions ($250k), the Ultimate Tournament of Champions ($2 million), the Masters Tournament ($1 million), and the Battle of the Decades ($1 million) bumped his earnings significantly.

Well the dude is still winning...$89,158 for today...7 day total so far is $415,035
Lets see, for an hourly worker, that would be...8 hr day, 7 days = 56hrs 415035/56 = $7,411.34/hr
I could use a job like that...

Didn't get to watch today, but he's still on a winning streak...

From the Chicago Tribune:
James Holzhauer's win Wednesday tied the Naperville native with the second-longest winning streak in regular play in "Jeopardy!" history. The previous record was held by Julia Collins, who in 2014 collected $428,100 over 20 games on the quiz show. She lost her 21st game to Brian Loughnane. Holzhauer's landslide Wednesday brings his 20-day total to $1,528,012. The 34-year-old Las Vegas sports bettor entered Final Jeopardy with $60,898 and wagered $40,784 on the category King James Bible. His opponents accumulated $8,200 and $4,200 in the first two rounds. All of the contestants had the correct response - What is Death? - to Final Jeopardy's "Of the 4 riders mentioned in Revelation 6, only this one is explicitly named." The $101,682 he won is the fifth highest one-day total of all time on the quiz show, and Holzhauer holds all the top 10 one-day totals in the history of the show. It took Ken Jennings 46 games to win $1,555,061, according to statistics gathered by The Jeopardy Fan website. On "Good Morning America" Wednesday morning, "Jeopardy!" host Alex Trebek spoke briefly about Holzhauer during his first televised interview since announcing he had pancreatic cancer in March. Trebek told host Robin Roberts Holzhauer changed his view that Ken Jennings' record would never be broken. "(Holzhauer) has no weaknesses," Trebek said. "He knows how to play the game, has a strategy."
