No wonder the feeder is always empty...
Will someone go out and chase him away...

If you notice a Praying Mantis on a feeder, chase it away. They will prey on a hummer...

are there many hummingbirds in the area?

@Njmeadows7 : It's hard to count them the way they dart around, but I'm guessing I have 6 - 8 of them buzzing around at any given time...

my ex mother in law used to have hummingbirds in her garden. they are so cute. fast little suckers!

We've got about a half dozen flitting around our feeder. It's the peak of the migration season. By mid-October they'll all be gone.

At my sons it is fun to watch them fight they hide n attack each other

Looked out a little earlier and at least 5 called a truce long enough to sit there together getting a drink...

Just took this pic....it's crazy how much these tiny birds drink, I fill it each morning. When I take it apart to clean it first, it will only have a few drops in it. When I walk out on the patio to hang it up, at least one will swoop down, land on it and start drinking before I've got it hung......
