Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon is pleased to announce that his office is now accepting applications for the 2018 Citizen Prosecutor Academy.
This will be the fourth class of the citizen's academy and will provide a behind the scenes look at what goes on in your District Attorney's Office. This 12- week course will start on August 6, 2018, and conclude with a graduation ceremony for participants on October 29, 2018.
The District Attorney's Office is at the forefront of protecting the community and holding criminals accountable. During this course, participants will hear from prosecutors and investigators on a variety of topics, including murder investigations, human trafficking, Grand Jury, internet crimes against children, and the anatomy of a criminal jury trial.
"I am really excited to kick off our 4th annual Academy so that more citizens of Montgomery County can get a closer look at what we are doing each day to keep our County safe," said Montgomery County District Attorney Brett Ligon. "This program continues to be a fun and educational experience for anyone who is looking to learn more about how a district attorney's office fits in the criminal justice process. We are continuously growing and have the best DA's Office in the State; I can't wait for this new class to see why."
