A Houston man now sits in the Montgomery County Jail for allegedly hitting his girlfriend and shooting the male she was with over the weekend.
According to reports from MCSO, on May 26, 2018, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office were dispatched to 19100 block of Jonathan Dalton Ct, Porter, Texas in reference to a disturbance with weapons. While in route, Deputies were advised that a large party was being held at the address with a live band performing. Deputies were also advised that one person had been shot and that the suspect fled in a silver Pontiac sedan.
When Deputies arrived they found a 21 year old male victim in the backyard that had been shot in the abdomen and leg from a small caliber firearm. The victim was transported to the hospital and is expected to survive the shooting. During the investigation, Deputies also learned that a 25 year old Hispanic female was also assaulted by the suspect. The female victim received a laceration to her face as a result of the suspect hitting her, and was also transported to the hospital for treatment.
As a result of the investigation, Detectives identified the suspect as Carlos Castillo (30, Houston). Detectives learned that Castillo and the female victim are boyfriend and girlfriend. Castillo became agitated when he found the male victim and the female victim sitting in a vehicle together. Castillo struck the female victim numerous times and then produced a handgun from his waistband and shot the male victim while he was standing near the vehicle. After both victims ran, Castillo got into his vehicle and fled the scene.
Detectives located Castillo and interviewed him regarding the assault. Due to the investigation conducted by the Deputies and Detectives, Castillo was arrested for two counts of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Castillo was booked into the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office Jail.
