It’s Nashunal Prufreeding Day
LOL....It’s
hard to keep sentences grammatically correct in forum posts.
Sometimes, you need a really long string of ellipses like this…………………….versus the more correct . . . . And, are you supposed to put a period
before a smiley face, or does the
smiley face go before the period? OR does it go in
place of the period?
And aren’t run-on sentences perfect for posts? It keeps the thought from being so formal. Nothing makes a sentence more stilted and pained than the grammatically correct capital-at-the-beginning and period-at-the-end format.
Why is it that it isn’t until you actually post that you see all the mistakes you made? I can look at a post and think “Yep, it’s okay,” and then after I post it I can see my mistakes glaringly obvious. I’m glad there’s not a counter on the bottom of a post that shows how many times you edited it.
And just when you get loose and crazy, and don’t care about
any punctuation or grammar, someone…
someone will come grammar police the heck out of you. 😊
Oh well…that's waaaaay too many thoughts about grammar. Have a great day, everyone!
