Multiple agencies helped end an Amber Alert and place a child predator in cuffs on Tuesday.
On August 15, 2017, at 9:30 am, two Deputy US Marshals, along with Montgomery County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force were investigating a lead on an Amber Alert concerning the possible whereabouts of Rudolfo Nuncio and his young female victim at the Flying J truck stop located at 23412 SH-242 in New Caney.
Nuncio was observed backing his vehicle into a parking spot. As the US Marshals approached Nuncio’s vehicle, ordering him to exit, Nuncio accelerated towards them – ultimately striking both US Marshall’s vehicles, and a utility pole before fleeing north on US Hwy 59.
At speeds of 100 mph, Nuncio lead Deputies and Officers from multiple law enforcement agencies on a 25 mile chase into San Jacinto County. Near Shepherd, Texas, a DPS Trooper had set up a spike-strip tire disabling device across roadway. Nuncio in attempt to avoid spikes, struck the Trooper patrol vehicle, head on, spinning to a halt in main lanes of highway 59. Nuncio was quickly taken into custody and the victim was rescued with only minor injuries from the collision.
Rudolfo Nuncio is facing a multitude of charges in both Montgomery and Hidalgo Counties. Offenses include Indecency with a Child, Aggravated Assault on a Public Servant, Enticing a Child, Evading in a Motor Vehicle, and a Federal Parole violation. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured, a young victim will soon be reunited with her family and a dangerous predator has been taken off the street.
Montgomery County Sheriff Rand Henderson commends the outstanding work of his Deputies, the US Marshal’s Service, Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable’s Office, Woodbranch Police Department, Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Cleveland ISD Police Department, Splendora Police Department, San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office, and the Texas Department of Public Safety.
