Freeway exit completion date ? Does anyone know if there are any plans to make freeway connection from 99 to 69. During rush hours traffic backs up in New Caney freeway interchange. When waiting for long signals to turn green I noticed that up above there is a not completed exit ramp up in the sky. If it was completed all this traffic waiting for signals would just take an exit to Humble without having to wait for multiple traffic lights.

I'll put in an inquiry, see if I can find anything out. My guess is it's not in the plans/budget yet, but they built the stub because they know they'll need to finish it at some point. I know that light can get super long. It can even cause backups all the way back to one of the shopping center's intersections.

I also wish they'd open the Valley Ranch Blvd at that intersection in your picture, to give faster access to VR residents.

I don't have an answer for you, but I did bring this up awhile back and a number of people chimed in:

Also, there is some relief coming to that intersection in a different form:
"Montgomery County will be working with the Texas Department of Transportation to build a one-lane westbound exit ramp and a one-lane eastbound entrance ramp to connect the Grand Parkway's main lanes and frontage roads, according to July 29 Montgomery County Commissioner's Court meeting documents. These ramps will be located along the Grand Parkway's Segment G between where the roadway intersects with Valley Ranch Parkway and Hwy. 59."

You would still need to exit onto the 99 feeder road to get from The Woodlands onto 59 towards Humble, but with the new entrance to 99 you would be sharing the traffic light with less traffic.

Thanks for posting!

I remember that near The Woodlands the set up the connection, but you had to pay a toll to get from 242 to 45 (or, you could save the toll money and just exit and wait for the stoplight)...seems like the toll was there for a couple years, and then went away...maybe a way of funding the roadway?
