Teen Arrested For Shooting In New Caney
A 17-year-old New Caney man has been arrested for the shooting that injured one person and killed another last weekend.

Members of the
Montgomery County Sheriffs Office Criminal Investigation Division along with the District Attorney's Office interviewed the victim, Jessie Ray Collins (19), who was involved in the shooting incident that occurred in the 25000 block of Lantern Lane in New Caney on 1/15/17. As a result of the investigation, MCSO's SWAT team executed an arrest warrant for 17-year-old Nicholas Andrew Valverde who resides in the same area the shooting occurred.
Detectives learned from Jesse Collins that Nicholas Valverde met with Jesse and the deceased victim, Joshua Raymond Foland (20) to purchase narcotics. It is believed the shooting occurred during this transaction.
Valverde was booked into the Montgomery County Jail on charges of Aggravated Robbery and Murder.
