License To Carry Handgun Class
Just wanted to let y'all know that RFPD is hosting another LTC class next weekend (details below).
I actually took this class back in December, and I really enjoyed it. I'd been wanting to get my license for a while, so this was the perfect opportunity. Bubba makes it fun and informational at the same time. Also, some of the money from the class fee(and previous classes) went to help purchase extra protective vest plates for RFPD officers.
Gary Blalock stopped by to tell us about the legal services available to gun owners through the
Texas Law Shield Firearms Program. There's a lot that can happen after someone uses deadly force to defend themselves, and Texas Law Shield is there to help.
The classroom time was about 4 hours or so. We then went to Thunder Gun Range on FM 1314 for the proficiency portion of the course.
After finishing the DPS application process online and getting my fingerprinting done the following week, I received my license in the mail a couple weeks later.
It was a very smooth process!
Shoutout to Bubba (and Wendy), Chief Carlisle, RFPD and the city of Roman Forest for making this easily available to the public.
