Can anyone recommend a lawyer to do a deed transfer? I have heard it is a simple process I could do myself but I'm just not so sure of that. I would prefer someone here in New Caney. Well, thanks in advance for any recommendations and Merry Christmas to all Emoticon

@Rich : I will. Everywhere I read, it says it's an easy one page form to fill out and then file in Conroe but I am trying to make sure I find the right one page form or it will be a waste of time. Trying to not use a lawyer seeing as everything is saying it's so easy. Emoticon But, I will let you know what happens.

Sammie, you're right it should be just a grant deed or a quit claim deed notorized and recorded with the county recorder.

@Sammie
You just need a notary to do a deed transfer. You need both parties present as in the buyer and the owner/seller. When doing the paper work. call 713-679-9996 she is in the Houston area. Her name is Anna Martinez. Hope this helps.

Jim House in Humble is a real estate attorney. We've used him for years for other things too.

So, out of curiosity I looked up quit claim deeds and warranty deeds through the Montgomery County records search. Apparently, the forms can vary a bit. So, then I went to the public library online databases section and found a database that provides the forms. Just like that, same as the ones that have been recorded previously. Libraries are great, aren't they. The forms in the database are actually provided by US Legal and if the library didn't subscribe to the service I would have had to pay for the form I knew was like the ones on record. Okay, so there it is. Thanks to everyone for the help. You all have a great day.
