Deputy Assaulted At Porter Gas Station
On Saturday, December 10, 2016, at approximately 6:50 PM, Deputies with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Patrol Division were dispatched to an assault/robbery that had occurred at the Summer Hills Food Mart located in the 24200 block of Sorters Road, in Porter.
The victim (an off-duty Montgomery County deputy) had stopped at the location to pick up several bags of ice for a trip. After purchasing the ice, he proceeded to his vehicle. As he was putting the ice in a cooler, a male, accompanied by another male, quickly approached him and struck him on his head/jaw. The two males then continued to assault the complainant in what was described as a robbery attempt.
The complainant’s wife, who was in the vehicle and able to see/hear what was occurring, proceeded toward the suspects with a handgun. After a confrontation, the complainant’s wife and the complainant did discharge their weapons at the suspects and the suspect vehicle.
Units from several agencies have attempted to locate the suspects and suspect vehicle with no success.
Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives, Crime Scene Investigators, representatives from the Texas Rangers, and representatives from the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office arrived at the location to investigate.
Earlier today (12/12/16), representatives from the Houston Police Department recovered a suspect vehicle believed to be utilized in the above listed robbery attempt. The vehicle was reported as stolen in the City of Houston a day prior to the robbery attempt. After a continued investigation, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives now believe a third male suspect was inside the suspect vehicle during the assault. Detectives have also been able to recover still photos of three persons of interest in the case (below).
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying these three individuals from a series of still photos.
