NEWS RELEASE

For Immediate Release – 4/28/2025

The Tip That Paid Off

The Montgomery County Precinct 4 Constable’s Office, under the leadership of Constable Kenneth “Rowdy” Hayden, arrested two individuals following a fraud and narcotics investigation in the New Caney area.

On April 17, 2025, the Precinct 4 Criminal Investigations Division initiated an investigation after receiving an anonymous tip regarding possible fraudulent activity and narcotics offenses. During the investigation, Amber Gardner, 41, and Steven Lambert, 45, both of New Caney, were identified as suspects. With assistance from the Patrol Division, deputies located the suspects together in a vehicle and conducted a traffic stop near State Loop 494.

During the stop, deputies discovered hundreds of stolen credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, driver’s license numbers, forged checks, and other personal information. Gardner also admitted to possessing illegal narcotics, specifically Psilocybin (mushrooms) and Oxycodone.

Gardner was arrested for two counts of felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and 2nd degree felony Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information. Lambert was arrested for 2nd degree felony Fraudulent Use or Possession of Identifying Information. Both suspects were transported to and booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where they remain in custody.

Constable Hayden extends his appreciation to the concerned citizen who reported this information and to the deputies whose efforts led to these arrests. Crimes of this nature can impact hundreds of lives, and every successful case represents a critical step in protecting the community’s personal information and financial security.
