It's a little dark at my house! I have a friend in Kingwood who says her power is out as well. DH says the website says we might get power by 10 tonight. Do you guys have power?

botanylover : It sounds like there's a lot of outages in the area. We're in KW, and our DD lives 4 blocks from us. We both had surges or short outages during the day, but it's ok now. She just called, and she knows lots of folks who don't have power. My adult granddaughter lives in an apartment behind HEB on 59, and her whole complex is dark. She's at DD's house now.

Bloom : Seems to be spotty but widespread.
I have no power since 403. They were telling us that it was going to be 7:45 PM when we got power now they've taken the time off and say they don't know when.
Do you guys have power?
We were out twice earlier today.
Love my Generac.
botanylover : MBV in KW does. We were out twice earlier today. Love my Generac.
botanylover : I've spent the whole day working around the possibility of no power. It seems to go out so often. I fixed lunch early. I immediately made a pot of coffee for the afternoon. I even made dinner before DH asked what we were having!

botanylover : I lost it for about 30 minutes yesterday morning after I heard a transformer blow.

I live in Timberland in Porter and we never lost power - so thankful. We had an awful windstorm but the lights stayed on. Sympathies to those who lost power and had to spend the afternoon in the dark. Been there and did not enjoy it. Tip from a local yokel - it is good to have a few solar lights in the yard that can be brought inside for light in the house after dark when the power is out. The kind you stick in the ground are good for that. Also good if it has an on/off switch so you can burn one until it goes out and then turn on another. This is the only real use I have found for solar lighting. I have several forms of it and it does not really work all that well. As I have a large yard I have solar lighting on the fence posts at places that are distant from the house. Most of that is good early in the evening but will not last through the night even in summer. You get maybe 4 to 5 hours out of solar yard light I have found. If I want something still burning out there in the early hours of the morning I still rely on electricity.
