Deputy Makes A New Friend
This is just awesome!
A father (Frank McCook) sent a video via Facebook to the Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable's Office that showed his son (David) finding a surprise left on their front door. It seems that a while back, Deputy Eric Prado had stopped by and held up a promise he made to his son.
Deputy Prado explains what happened:
I was working an investigation at his neighbor's house. He had the biggest smile on his face as I walked by, so I stopped to tell him hi and we just started talking. His mom told me that he wanted to be in law enforcement or a fireman. I told him to be a cop!!! Then I told him that I had a surprise for him, so I went to my Tahoe to get him one of our challenge coins with our badge on it...but I forgot they were in my other ride. I went back, apologized to him and his mom, and told them I'd be back with a surprise for him. The mom said don't worry about it, and probably thought I wouldn't be back. But I went back the next day and left him the coin on their door as they were not home. And I never heard back from them until the video was sent. He's a pretty cool kid. I just couldn't walk by without telling him hi...He was just in awe!
