Grand Texas Sports and Entertainment Complex Delayed by a Year

The 620-acre theme park and entertainment complex that will be located in the New Caney area has announced large delays in the project. Due to delays in the installation of utility hookups and design issues that needed to be resolved, the schedule for the project's completion had to be moved back--by a year, at least, maybe more. Originally, some portions of the development were supposed to be open by mid-2015. Now, it looks like the only portion that may be opening at all this year is the recreational vehicle park. That is believed to be ready to open sometime in the fall. The developers have hired a company, Bleyl & Associates of Conroe, to revise the master plan of the development. They will also be adding an outlet mall to the mix--one similar to the Tanger Outlet Mall.

I find it amusing that they keep talking about adding all these new things every time there is another delay announced. How about they concentrate on the original plans to get this theme park opened first? Also, I really feel for anyone living around where this racetrack is going to be. Its going to sound like bumble bees all the time!

This is terrible news!!! How in the heck is Frank and his gang of bumbling idiots going to fit in 40 more dinners at Chez Nous to "discuss" and "plan" things with Monty and HIS gang of bumbling idiots in their already hectic schedule of wasting more of our taxpayer dollars?

So, they're going to open a RV Park. For WHAT? I guess they could charge little old ladies in their RVs to watch shirtless illegals from South of the Texas border build this thing for the next 20 yrs. Judging from EMCID's timetable of broken promises, that's how long it's going to take to build this thing. Just think, Frank's going to be laughing all the way to the bank while picking up his very large taxpayer- funded retirement checks before those taxpayers ever get to enjoy a park. Well, maybe our grandchildren will........NOT

pantherdadx2 You are so uninformed and your post are nothing but lies. Get your story straight and learn and report true facts. Grand Texas is funding all there own project = not the taxpayers. Why don't you quite posting wrong information. You sound like the bumbling idot -not the EMCID Board or Grand Texas Consultants.

Why did I not know, once I posted what I did, that emcresident would chime in with worthless drivel. Yes, we all know the taxpayers of EMC are not funding Grand Texas, emcresident, but they do fund the dinners and related activities where all involved "discuss" and "plan" things. This is what I was referring to when I mentioned a waste of taxpayer dollars, but then again, emcresident isn't going to comprehend what one posts. Given their spelling and grammer content, I highly doubt their education extends much beyond the 7th grade. Hey, since you're one of the EMCID'S most staunch and vocal supporters, emcresident, maybe they'll invite you to one of their dinners. You might as well, you're helping pay for them.

I'll reiterate what Judge Sadler said about EarthQuest to Frank and the gang and apply it to Grand Texas. Either put up or SHUT UP.
