Dream Team Camp: Teaching How to Handle Broadcast Equipment
For students that are looking for something a little outside the box when it comes to summer camps, the Dream Team may have just the thing. The summer camp aims to help teach students how to handle high-end professional broadcasting equipment in a hands-on, low-pressure way. The camp is named after the Dream Team, a group of New Caney and Porter High School students that works with this equipment on a regular basis. Some of the things that students will become familiar with are ribbon screens, Tricasters, instant replay, and video equipment. As an added bonus, they will be able to see what come of their hard work on the biggest high school video screen in the United States. Dream Team members will help students at skill stations. Instructors include Santiago Acosta, the New Caney High School video instructor, Stuart Stanley, veteran reporter for Channel 13, Jim Becka, former writer/producer for the producers of the Texas Health Report.
The camp fee is $25.00. Checks should be made out to New Caney High School Journalism, and can be dropped off at the high school, or mailed to:
New Caney High School
