Pct. 4 Nabs Armed Robbers In New Caney
Four suspects are now in custody thanks to the attentiveness of a concerned citizen and one of our very own Pct. 4 deputies.
The incident took place before midnight last night (12/22/16) at the Walgreens on Aldine Westfield in Spring. Four black males entered the drug store and demanded cash from the employees at gunpoint. They took an undisclosed amount of money and locked employees in an office before fleeing the scene.
The employees immediately called 9-1-1.
A witness, feeling very suspicious of their activity, followed the robbers towards the Grand Parkway. He contacted dispatch and gave the details to them, which were broadcasted to Harris County & Montgomery County units.
A short time later, Lt. Looza with the
Montgomery County Pct. 4 Constable's Office located the vehicle at a gas station in New Caney. He called it in and waited for backup to arrive.
Once more deputies were on the scene, the vehicle was surrounded and four male suspects were detained. A handgun and cash were located inside the vehicle.
The identities of the suspects have not yet been released.
A tip-of-the-cap to the citizen who made the arrest possible. It's another reminder that if you "see something, say something!"
Thank you also to Lt. Looza! Who knows what the suspects would have done in the future.
