To the community of New Caney, Splendora, Porter. Do not vote on any incumbents, they have cost this community millions and done nothing but take trips on our dime. Almost 150,000 dollars in board member trips last year. What do you see in our community where you can say hey EMCID did that. Legal fees nearly 500,000 dollars and they hired Rusty Hardin to defend them in ongoing investigation. It is just crazy. Go to Our Tribune newspaper online in Kingwood and search Eathquest and watch what comes up. Be ready to be shocked. Or better yet go to Montgomery County Police Reporter and watch Candidate Forum. Does those people look like someone you want to handle 15 million a year. They could hardly make it to podium. Hell one of them even said ( we have done some bad things ) Please comment and tell me your thoughts. This has to stop.
Let me first say that I haven't kept up with the EarthQuest disaster well enough to speak to that issue. I think firing everyone and starting over definitely sends a clear message in politics; on a state or national level no incumbents is probably a good plan, I'm not sure it is always the best plan in local elections. Locally we have a greater opportunity to be involved personally and to know if there were board members who voted with the communities best interest. We may do more damage than good by removing them from their position. Just something to think about
Yes, it is about time we get some fiscally responsible, liberty minded candidates not only at EMCID but in our Commissioners Offices and Congressional District (8) as well. You can't keep making the same old mistakes, election after election, voting in the "good old boys club" members, and expect the outcome to change. Most of the so called "conservative" incumbents are nothing more than liberals in disguise.
if you go on the emcid website and click on financial reports, you can look at the 2009 info. Alternatively, you can go to the houston press archive and look up earthquest. The Humble Tribune also has a wealth of information. Happy hunting!
